Faith

Frankly, I am not a “good” Christian to many. I drink, swear and do countless other things that are not approved by my past pastors. The Purpose Driven Life? It meant nothing for me. I read a few of Max Lucado’s books – yet none really satisfy the gaping hole in my spiritual life.

While some evangelists tell me that I am here to train myself for my reunion with God – that’s nice. At least they don’t try to pretend they know God more than I do. But when people quote me biblical scriptures completely out of context, like:

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
Matthew 7:7

Or like recently, renowned religious leaders in Hong Kong are getting involved with politics and commenting on tragedies by their own interpretation,  I just want to whack them in the head, and say this:

You aren’t God, so how can you give me answers on why things are happening? How can pastors / religious leaders tell people how to behave in our current context when they themselves aren’t in control?
